Those participating in the Linea blockchain hackathon will have the opportunity to request testnet ETH from a faucet using simple messaging via XMTP. Qualified developers get what they need to build their dApps and smart contracts without any of the friction they may have experienced in the past.</p>



<p>Here’s how it works in a nutshell:</p>

<li>Developer sends a message via XMTP to an Absolute Labs address to automatically receive testnet ETH into their wallets.</li>



<li>Absolute Labs first checks the requesting address to ensure that it has been active on the Ethereum or Polygon blockchains (or other qualifiers).</li>



<li>When validated, the system automates a message back to the developer that their testnet ETH has been sent to their wallet.</li>
</ul>



<p>Safeguards are built into the system so that users can’t trigger the faucet more than once from the same address. </p>
